If you’re in the market for an e-reader, now is a great time to buy. Amazon is taking $30-$50 off the Kindle, Paperwhite, and the Voyage. One hitch: the deal is only for Prime members. If you’re not a member yet, it’s $10 a month after your 30-day free trial.

The Kindle

Unlike tablets, all Kindles come with the anti-glare screen. (Photo: Amazon)

The Kindle is Amazon’s most budget-friendly model. It doesn’t have all the bells and whistles like the Oasis or the Voyage, but it’s an upgrade from lugging books around or straining your eyes trying to read from the phone. It’s a good option if you need an e-reader and would like to keep the price low. Non-prime members will pay $79.

The Kindle Paperwhite

The soft backlight and long battery life make the Paperwhite our favorite Kindle. (Photo: Amazon)

The Paperwhite is my personal favorite and the favorite among other Reviewed staff. I was using the Kindle app for a long time, and my eyes were suffering as a result. The soft backlight on the Paperwhite is the easiest on my vision. I’m a huge advocate for low-maintenance devices. Also, the battery life on the Paperwhite lasts a lot longer than I expected. The price is usually $119.

The Kindle Voyage

The Voyage is the next step-up from my personal pick. The biggest difference is that the Voyage weighs less than the Paperwhite and has a slimmer body. The backlight adjusts automatically depending on your surroundings. I love the Paperwhite, but when I’m ready for a replacement I’ll be looking at the Voyage. For non-prime members, the Voyage costs $219.
